How can we improve a working person's nomadic lifestyle?
My partner YongHee Yoo and I received a proposal to create a soft material product which improves a worker's nomadic lifestyle. We thought about materials and the different characteristics of a nomadic lifestyle and came to the conclusion to improve the worker's resting time. While they are out working, stress wears down the body; sometimes, even open time slots dedicated to rest cannot be used optimally because of the environment of the work area.
PyeonHan is our answer to this problem. PyeonHan is a jacket that can be worn like normal, but can also be unfolded to use as a blanket as well. YongHee and I aimed to lower the cost of the jacket while also optimizing the amount of warmth and comfort that it offers. We chose to use fleece as the material of the jacket and regular black thread to sew the material together.
What does PyeonHan mean?
PyeonHan means "Comfortable" in Korean. As both YongHee and I have Korean roots, we wanted to name our jacket something simple and literal in order to deliver the message of our jacket being comfortable.
